What would I need?

I am running my Nine.1 and Nine.4 all the time FEAR at high volumes..

1200@1 ohm and 150@ 4 ohm.. no dimming.. on my 135 amp alt..

So you should be **** fine.. give your specs..

Stock electrical systems can usually handle up to 500watts RMS without any upgrades.

You said you have a Legacy amp, what is the actual RMS rating in its manual?. Legacy plasters made up peak power rating on the front of their amps, the actual RMS output is much lower, check your manual for the actual RMS rating.

You don't need to replace the amp, it will work fine, you just need to uderstand the true capabilitys of the amp in order to use it properly.

I have developed a formula to find out the rms wattage of a legacy amp.

(RATED WATTS / 5) / CHANNELS = RMS WATTAGE (at a 2 ohm load) if the amp is capable of a 2 ohm load, some legacy's aren't, but most are.

plug it in

(400 / 5) / 4 = 20 watts rms per channel at a 2 ohm load, probably 10 watts at 4 ohms. I'm being completely honest. A friend of mine had a 400 watt legacy amp that was only pushing 6.72 volts AC when i tried to adjust the gains, and that was at full blast !

My Legacy 2000 Blue Diamond (Legacy's Top End) only pushes 25.8 volts AC when i measured it with a 45 hertz 0 db tone with the gains at full blast. I think thats only 166 watts if i remember correctly but thats pretty shiity for bein rated at 2000 watts.
