What would be better?

I have a 1999 honda civic hatchback and i have enough room for about a 4 cf box in the trunk without modifying anything. I want to run 15 so i can hit the lows a bit nice, but i understand 2 12s would be louder possibly. Hoping for a tune arounf 32-35 htz. Subs will be RE SX brand. i can find an amp around them i guess. which would sound and perform better?

i know the 2 12s have more cone area so i guess they would be louder.
