..iff I hook up a Hifonics 1000D to the 8 gauge wiring I already have in my car? I was told it could fry my amp. Would it hurt to just run the amp on that wiring for just a few days?

if you were going to do it anyway keep the volume low. and the gains down....but i wouldnt.

I actually ran my bx1500d off my 8 gauge kit for a little bit. Ended up toasting the ground because i'm an idiot(didnt do it to bare metal).

But i also only had it running @ 2 ohms. I'd say just be patient and wait for the 4 gauge.

I ran the BX1500 on 8g, for about 3 weeks, no problems.. well maybe alil bit of burnt wires. shouldn't funk your amp though..

umm you should use 2 gauge according to this here chart

although i would just get 1/0 gauge from weldingsupply.com and then use a distrobution block a 3 foot lead to the BX.... cheaper than 4 gauge wire i think.....
