This enables you to tune lower in smaller enclosures. Both sound good if made correctly. It comes down to preference and what will be easier to build with your box size. I have my 15 slot ported right behind me in my truck and even at very high levels I can't hear any port noise. As long as the port area is large enough you won't have any port noise.
