What tool to cut circles with ???

Yea, and I'm almost at the point where i don't need to bust all over your av's face. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

i just bought a rotozip circular saw. and it cuts beautiful. i reccomend it for 150.
for 150, i'd advise to invest in the router and jasper. Rotozip is slow, and those itty bitty bits just aren't worth it compared to getting the router.

I use plunge router + jasper jig....

Used it for the first time this wkend..... don't think it automatically =s perfect circles! lol, my router jumped a few times!

I would also like to know this. what if you do not have a router at hand? last was i cut my sub circles for my box i sometimes got them edgy but i was using a circular saw to cut them didn't come out to bad though but any other suggestions?
Can you cut another circle with the circular saw, except videotape it this time. I wanna see how you did that. And what the circle turned out like. how big was the blade?

Or maybe you are using the wrong name?

Anyway, I just use a jigsaw freehand. Just follow the line. When i used a router, my circles always came out ****ed up. I cant use it for some reason.

the Jasper Circle jig works the best.....

perfect circles every time

Yes, it's a good tool, but you can do the same with a piece of cardboard and a nail. That being said, I do have both jaspers, but used to make my own before I bought it. All it is is a compass with the pencil cutting through the material instead of drawing.

I've used a circ saw (skill saw) to cut circles before. Nothing as tight as a 10" diameter, though. You have to set the blade no more than half way deep for the first pass, then all the way through on the second. The width of the cut ends up being wider than the kerf of your blade, so keep that in mind depending on if you want to keep the outside of the cut(for a hole cutout) or the inside of the cut(for like an outside radius). Also, they just came out with a special radius cut circ saw blade, but I've never tried it. Still, for speaker installs, I wouldn't recomend it. A router or jig is much easier and more precise.

I don't mean to hijack, but how much would a decent router and jasper jig run?

Also, what size bits or jigs for 6.5 inch cuts?

I'm looking at glassing and making baffles this summer. I can't use half-assed wood cutting methods.

I bought my ryobi plunge router for $99. I use it a LOT and have yet to have a problem with it. Its about a year old probably.

For bits, I think the jasper is setup to work with 1/4" bits.
