Hi I was just wondering what tools you guys/gals are using to cut circles for sub installations??? Can you suggest something cheap...

I always use to use a coping saw but this time I'm trying a flush mount installation so if I use that method it'll probably turn out really ugly.

I also have a dremel but I can't find the circle cutting attatchment for it locally.

I would also like to know this. what if you do not have a router at hand? last was i cut my sub circles for my box i sometimes got them edgy but i was using a circular saw to cut them didn't come out to bad though but any other suggestions?

Since my router is out of commission, I just draw a circle using a home-made compass and then use a jigsaw free-hand. They usually come out just as nice as a router as long as I take my time and if my ghetto jigsaw's battery doesn't die before I'm done.

Plunge router and a jasper jig. The quickest and best way to do it.
Or you can just use a jigsaw.
if you're going to build a few boxes in your lifetime, a jasper jig is well worth the $30 investment...perfect circles every time!

router and jasper jig! i have used a jig saw for years works ok, then bought a craftsman circle jig it sucks cant go small enough for a 10" and just bought a jasper jig and used it for the first time yesterday and i know swear by it.
