what to look for in a battery?

hey guys im planning on running a HK4000D for a while. Knowing that this amp is a current hog, what should I look for in battery use? What makes a battery better for car audio then another one...I'm going to be doing the big 3 1/0 wire. 200A alternator...yellow top up front and two smaller batterys to power this...I like the 2400s from kinetik. But open to any kind that will power this thing...id like to keep it under $300 new or used for the battery(s).

you should be just fine with that set up & 1 2400,but they are around $280 each brand new im using 2 1400s on 2 kicker 2500s with a factory alt and im ok until a few songs later at full volume.i never used that amp before, but heard it only gives out around 2850 watts with a good electric set up

i agree. one hc2400 should be just fine. If you REALLY WANT to do two smaller batteries, just for personal preferance, you could always do a couple smaller kinetiks, a couple DEKA intimidators, or even a couple Exide Orbital dry cells. I use an Exide Orbital up front and it is very nice. it is pretty much an optima yellow top but cheaper when you buy it in town.

ok so i think im going to do the exide up front, hc2400 in the back with 200alt andall 1/0 wire that should be good for this hk correct?
