I have a set of Revs 6.5 comps and an Alpine F450 amp (70x4, 200x2 @4). I'm wondering if I should bridge the channel together and give them about 100-150W each, or run them active. I do have an active capable HU (CD7000). The only drawback of running active for me is that I have never done it before and would probably need help with the settings.

Do you guys think they can take that much power (100-150W) even though they're only rated at 60W. Is the Alpine F450 underrated or overrated?

Oh yeah, I have no sub at this moment. I am also running the rear 6x9s off of the HU power. Just some extra information you guys might need.

Thx.

Run them active. Makes a world of difference. Set the gains so that the mids get 60-70w rms and the tweeters get 30-50w rms each.

Cross them over like so to start with:

Mids: HP 80Hz, LP 3200Hz

Tweeters: HP 3100Hz

Adjust them to your liking afterwards.
