What to do? Help Plz

I am new to subwoofers. I use to have the magna sub and amp kit circuitcity sells for 180 dollars. It was fine for a month or 2 and got old fast. Personally i think it was a total waste of my money. So i sold them for 100 dollars and bought 2 10" jbl 100rms and had them for about 3 or so months. They arnt that great at all either. I have a budget of 400 to 500 dollars and i want to have a good system that i dont have to upgrade for a while. I want to have a system that bumps pretty hard and can deffitnaly impress my friends. Alot of them have circuitcity combos and they sound pretty good. But i want somthing that bumps hard and still is good with rock. What is a good amp and sub to get. I want 2 12" or maybe get a single 15 if it would work. I know i wrote alot but i hope it helps. Thanks for the help
