What to adjust

I have the entry alpine 9856, & mainly (only) use my Ipod.

As you all know not every song has the same sound quality.

My system is setup for clarity & I'm pleased with it, but there are times when a song comes on that has too much bass and I'm not sure if I should adjust the Bass level or the Subwoofer level. Which one would allow me to keep the most clarity?

IF I explained that right.

I don't know how it is on the newer alpine HU's, but on my 9825, the bass adjustment is just a bass boost, which you don't want to have on. The sub adjustment is like a gain setting. As long as you don't turn the sub level up higher than what you set your gains at on your amp, then thats the one you want to control. It shouldn't cause any quality loss in the music my lowering the sub level.

Check the EQ settings of your Ipod maybe you have the BAss boost on or some other EQ setting that you are not aware of. So check that out.

everything is set correctly, as I said before Im happy with the sound. It's awesome(for me).

It's just that some songs need less bass and I wanted to know which setting I needed to turn down without affecting the SQ--when that really "Bassy" song comes on.

Thanks Squeak12, Cybe, and Spud. That's exactyl what I needed to know.

Oh! I didn't realize there was an iPod involved.

Newer versions of iTunes will remember your EQ settings for each song, and when you synchronize your iPod, it'll take those settings with it.

So find one of those songs, and check the EQing on it - adjust to your preference, and voila. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
