it's the black vent thing above the clippers .. 07 hyundai accent btw

I want to cover it up but i'm thinking maybe it prevents exzaust fumes from comen in ... i got a baby girl on the way so i need to figure this one out before i cover it

its a vent. not sure what's the whole purpose of it, but I covered mine with expanding foam.

Yea I think you could pry just cover it up.. I honestly think its just a vent to bring a little air flow through to the trunk? I am probably wrong, but hey, thats my take on it.. good luck!

I think its to relieve pressurization, like when you slam the trunk.. I had some in my 99 f150 as well.. they got covered.. never noticed a problem after I did it

Have you felt it while the car was running? Maybe to get a lil ac to the trunk? Maybe to keep groceries a lil cooler? Not sure so I'm reaching.

It's a vent for 1)people stuck in the trunk, 2) it also helps to keep your trunk from rotting out, esp. the seals, 3) so the door closes easier.

That one is right. To relieve pressure when you close the doors or trunk.

You may have one on the other side too. If you cover it up, you'll be *****in' about the doors not closing right, or you might not notice a difference.

The other fun result in in areas where the temp varies a lot from day to night and the car heats up and then cools off, the doors will vacuum themselves shut. The vents allow the pressure to equalize.
