What subs will get loudest?

Ever tried mounting a 12'' spl/sq sub (cost $499.00 each)

which req a minimum of 1.50 cuft per sub and a mounting depth of 7''

in a truck box with a depth of 5'' with an internal air space of 1.25 cuft,

then powering it with 1000 watts?

Then that's the 2nd longest sentence ever

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wacky.gif.cf4a48f9e6dfe9504ffd2c946fd2f340.gif Periods man. Use periods.

Hey Billetz23

My box specs are (height 14")x (width 54")x (depth at top 4")x (depth at bottom 8")

It is a split 2 12" subwoofer box

That is the amp i have

With what i have what 2 subs would you recommend, ive heard Adire Shivas, RE REs, and Kicker Comp VRs

You should orer some funky pups, they are doing a mass buy. Hurry and you could get some of the loudest farkin subwoofers ever made!!!
not gunna lie i got 3 8"s and a 15" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif im planning on some 240volt fun

and for your sub that you want only for SPL get a re MT, its impossible to tell you the "loudest" but you set that one up right and give it enough power and it will rip your head off

lol what is he gonna do use an atom smasher to make it 5.5" deep? bust out the welding gear to cut and weld?

hey bigblue gmc

looking at the mesurments for the truck box

that you have:

height: 14''

width: 54'' divided by 2 = 27'' per box

depth at top:4''

depth at bottom:8''

came out to 0.83 cuft per box

Are you sure about the mounting depth of 5.25''?

As to the subs that you listed: adrie shivas, resonant engineering,

and the cadence mallet . You will need to check sub mounting depth

as you only have 5.25'' of mounting space. You will also have to deside,

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif as price been a factor, how much are you willing to spend for a pair.

check out CARSOUND.COM they did a review on the cadence 12'' mallet

maybe what your looking for.

billetz23

How did you get .83 cuft, i calculated it out again and still got about 1.25 cuft per box.

I am sure about the 5.25" mounting depth but it might be more because the subs that are in there now are 5.25" deep.

I dont know how much i will have to spend because i want to research so i get the best subs i can.

I will look at that review but do the compare to the others in SPL?

hey bigblue gmc
ever seen the price for an image dynamic Id 12v3 over at cardomain

only like $449.00 dollars each and they give you free shipping

man that's $900.00 dollars for a pair of subs

then you will have to build a new box cuz the truck box you have now

will be to shallow for those subs they need 7 plus inches of mounting depth

not to mention a minimum of 1.50 cubic feet of air space per sub

and a amplifer that can put out a thousand watts rms per sub

there are alot of mono amp that can do this cost being a factor

just to name a few: zapco c2k 9.0, kicker sw1250.1, jl audio 1000.1, hifonics bd 1500.1, jbl 1200, crossfire 1000 and more

just look in this forum under 1000 watt amps you will find them all listed

now let's use the system you have

the boss amp that you have if it's model boss riot r850

max power into 1 ohm is 850 watts

so you will need pair of 12'' subs with dual 4 ohm voice coils

pair wired for a 1 ohm load

850 watts divided by two subs = 425 watts per sub (more or lest)

depending on amp power supply (built)

is this your truck box spec:

( height 15'' )x (width 17'') x (depth at top 7'') (depth at bottom 12'')

if not please please post spec

hey termlab if you are reading this how about some spec as to building a ported truck box one cubic feet plus port for a eight inch kicker L7

meaning : height

width

depth at top

depth at bottom

square port or round port

port height, port width, port length, and (tuned to what feq /hz)

and how you came up with figures and will it fit into big blue gmc

because he only wants a pair of twelves to put into the box he has now
idmax 12 is not an id12 http://www.cardomain.com/item/IDSID12V3D2

well if you build the box from .75" mdf and those measurements are outer demensions you have to subtract the woods space

i would go 2 re 12's or 10's honestly. the id12v3 (NOT THE IDMAX) are deeper than the older v2's 6" deep now. i know the re 12's are right at 5.5". at that volume of space i would put almost a pound of fiber fill in each woofers box. the re's onlt require 175 watts each so 350 on the pair would be plenty.. amp maybe something like this for the whole system. ) http://www.cardomain.com/item/USAUSC4085

you can also get alot of other amps less or more expensive but all it has to do is 350 watts to 200ish rms @ 4 ohms

if you wanted pure wang maybe the mallet but i really dont like those very well at all one of the guys i worked with had them i wasnt very impressed it might get louder but i dont think u would turn it up like that unless you didnt care...but i will say this , if the review is good you might try it from what i see there are minor differences in the mallets on the web site and the guy i know. baskets are close cones are a diff color so his were older. he actually switched to audiobahn lol he had a pretty wicked amp driving 4 12" mallets im thinking it was one of the bigger hp linear power ones but opted for 2 15" audiobahns (big chromed huge surrounds) it bumped alot harder with th 15's. i trouble shot and did the reinstall with the 15's this was awhile ago.
