What subs give over 2" excursion ?

Im just curious, I know I could look around the forum //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but im at work ,no online connection at home and little time. Im curious about Excursion.
Can you see the excursion of a sub more on a ported box, or does it matter ?

My curiosity is the fact that when you watch a sub move , the audience in the car tends to feel that its hitting harder the more it seems to be excurding //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Anyhow whats some good excursion subs ?
Excursion, or xmax?

If you mean excursion, too many to list. If you mean xmax, there's just a few like the 06 xxx and of course, the parthenon.

No, you will generally see less excursion in a ported box. How far the signal's frequency is from tuning dictates how much cone motion there will be in vented system. At tuning, cone excursion is minimal. The further you move from the enclosure's tuning, the more the cone will move, especially when dipping below tuning (dangerous). In a sealed system things are much simpler. How much excursion there is in a sealed box is strictly dependant on the input power to the speaker, not the signal frequency... the more you turn up the volume, the more it moves, period.

Excursion isn't everything, its only one piece of the performance puzzle. Don't make a decision based solely on how much the cone can move. That sort of reasoning usually leads to buyer's remorse down the road.

here is a picture of a Massive DMX on the test bench, as you can see it gets moving up there pretty high

Not exactly, but that's the idea.

Cone motion above tuning will generally always be less than sealed with the same power.

Cone motion below tuning begins to pick up VERY rapidly because of unloading, where the sub begins to almost play 'free air.'
