What Sub + Amp to get? Under 400...

Well first I can't spend more than $400 on this system including shipping, etc.

I am looking to get a single 10 or 12 as my trunk space is limited.

My first thought was a kicker 10" L7, kicker KX400.1 Amp and I can get an MDF box made by kicker for like 30 bucks. All of this is on ebay.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated...also...

for the price of the 400.1 amp (about $200) is there anything better I can get? I saw the older model dx700, but it is refurbished where as the 400 is brand new. I am not looking to win any competitions, but want some nice loud bass and a carefree system. Also, would I need a cap for a system like this? My car is a '04 infiniti g35 coupe if that helps.

My friend just installed a 10 inch L7 and a kicker600.1 about 2 weeks ago and he says he only spent 380 or 390 (something like that) on it. He got everthing off ebay.

OK i have a aw1200q audiobahn amp in a box....12 inch, 700rms retails around like 170, and a Audiobahn a8000t 800wrms amp that retails for 350...... ALL of this is brand new....i ended up gettin a car with a factory mach system that sound good and now im not installing this.... I would go with 10 or 12 inch L5 and a JBL 600/1 or whatever Kicker amp is similar. Those are great subs but they take a good couple of weeks to break in. I have a JL 500/1 and a 10W7 and I would not mind having a L5 or L7 for a while. Those things have a great "punch" to them that sounds aweswome on Kick drums etc.
