What size speaker wire to sub?

What size speaker wire should I use? I went to Car Toys to get wire but ended up not being enough. I have a dual voice coil sub so there are two sets of wire going to t the sub. When I went back to get more wire a different guy gave me a different size wire. I'm guessing that having only one size of speaker wire would be best so when I go back should I get the bigger or smaller size? Is the S.Q. or SPL effected by size of wire? Thanks.

I use 10 gauge wire.

as for the two connectors you can chain them or you can hook up two amps.

Size of wire can affect both SPL and SQL

depending on the woofer and what the terminals will accept. what woofer are you using

nope, 8awg is already overkill for what is needed, plus you'll never fit 4 awg into any speaker terminal, and unless your running like 3000 watts to the subs, you should be fine with 10-12awg
