What size fuse to HU?

I have a used Alpine 7998 that does not have the little block attached to the yellow ignition lead which normally has some type of fuse in it. Hence I need to run my own fuse. What size? Would 5A be enough. The unit is a dead head, so no amp to worry about. Thanks.
