what size box for old diamond audio 8

My friend has a diamond audio 8" that he has had for a good 5-8 years. not sure what the model # is, but he is wanting to build a ported box just to have something in his daily driver till he can afford more.

how big should it be, what to tune to?

neither of us can find specs on older d1 stuff or i would play with winisd to find a good box size

Well most 8's say around .6 cubes after port and sub disp. So around that and tuning is up to you. I would do about 34ish.
