Low for Life
I just picked up a viper 2500d and amp running a dc xl on it. I realized it would be more realistic if I ran it at 1500-1600rms since I have a 160 amp alt. My options are either 2 ohms 2500rms tuned down to about 1600rms or at 4 ohms 1500rms. I just want some input on what you would think is better personally I thought at 2 ohms would be better because I could keep the gain nice and low.

It kind of balances itself out.. Run it at 2 and keep your gain to whichever you deem 'low'. Or run it at 4 with the gain higher and it'll will be a bit less strain on your electrical system. How do you have the ability to run at both 2 or 4 ohms?

I still have the option atm of a d1 or d2 that's why I can run at either. Well it is a 15 dc xl and I know that these guys like more than rated but for a daily setup it would be less stress on the woofer to run at rated, any input on this.

a buddy of mine is going to be running 2 18 xls on a 7.5k //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif for daily.

You're going to run into electrical stress before you will woofer stress..

ok well at this point just tell me to run it at 2 or 4 ohms I have a 160 amp alt (Stock) and a secondary yellow top I can run in the trunk. Also how much more stress does 2 ohms put on a system v.s. 4 ohms.
