What rms can my stock alt handle?

This was my biggest worry.

With a PG 1200.1 (rated at 1487watts) and a 04 Accord (supposed to have 80-100amps), I didn't know if my stock alternator was going to handle that amp and subs, much less be safe at night with a/c running and headlights on. Many knowledgable people told me to worry about it. I got it installed anyways.

Works perfect. Barely any dims. RickTC is running some mad amps for competition and has an older Saturn running on stock alt. and it works perfectly fine as well.

Thats my 2cents....

Well if you are going to be running sine waves, then yes your alt will probably only be able to handle 600 w rms. However, since you will be playing regular music while driving, your amps will never draw the max rating. I have been running over 1200 rms (not just sub amps) daily on my 92 grand prix (which is a 105 amp alt) that have a history of bad alts fine for the last 2 years.
