Truth...and probably one of the least "real"
"Thug-Life" and "West-Side" from a guy who grew up on the east coast and went to performing arts and theater schools
He was based in the West Coast.

Thug Life: Thug Life is the opposite of someone having all he needs to succeed. Thug life is when you have nothing, and succeed, when you have overcome all obstacles to reach your aim.

Tupac was a social activist. Whats your definition of "real". He sounds more "real" than most rappers talking about money, cars, and girls in every song.

None of the fegs mentioned above are worthy. They are all pathetic babies constantly begging for any kind of attention they can get. I nominate Dre and Jay z. In their time they got their hands dirtier and had more street cred than any of today's biotches ever did. Then they got smart and said 'I could be some small time hustler workin the streets on the side while makin money for some rich white producer who offers me a cut of what I bring in, or I could become that producer and be worth a few hundred mill some day.' They worked the streets then took over the board room. They did it without getting shot to death or being a constant public embarassment. Now while all the new fegs are constantly tryin to prove how hard they are guys like these quietly sit back and rake in obscene amounts of money. They have done it, they have lived it, they have moved on to make more money. They feel no need to prove themselves or constantly remind everybody how hard they are. Tupac and Biggie were talented and all but if we're goin for 'most hardcore' title, the ones who are still alive and still getting rich win it for me.

Now they quietly continue to make lucrative albums and pimp other new talent while living luxurious lives. They do it all without constantly making ***** of themselves in order to try to get 5 minutes in the spotlight. Akon is an ***, he does ******* things constantly because he's afraid if he doesn't cause controversy all the time everyone will focus on his music and figure out he is nothing special and he will quickly be forgotten. Lil Wayne, Young JEEZEE, whoever the rest of them are, sound like learning disabled chimpanzees. Guys like Dre and Jay Z have been around for like 20 years and will still be here in another 5-10 either putting out their own stuff or making money off other people. Most of the rest mentioned in this thread will be forgotten has-beens in a fraction of that time.

Good input and very well said.

Agreed. But if you want to listen to some real shit UGK(rap about good topics, and how govt. is corrupt etc..)/Trae and Z-ro
I love Trae, slow deep tone and the way he rhymes....never really listened to Z-ro

None of them are real. They all just want money. They all help enforce the thought that doing drugs, drinking mad amounts of booze and being a man ***** is a good thing and a must to be accepted in society.

It does seem that if you want to make a hit in the rap industry today you do have to include those things....it is ironic.

My buddies trying to get into the industry. He loves the music, he loves the beats, all of it... but he still raps about nothing but drugs, money, hoes, ect. Stupid shit. I think I like Jeezy the best because the songs that I DO like are more political, or something other than drugs, but really, I like music for the sound/beat/flow/ ect, not the lyrics. Lyrics happen to be a plus if they follow my beliefs. Thats it.

Yea I have been a fan of Jeezy the longest, he raps about drugs and all the above but he does it in more of metaphoric way....I think that is the way I wanted that to come out and sound right lol

I feel ya, I love JayZ, well everything after the black album I think sucked, most people dont even know reasonable doubt, probably his best. I cant discredit 2pac though. Honestly he is my fav rapper by far. Dre, ehh, good beats, one good solo album, one of the best produces in the world though.

This is how I feel man, you take "best I ever had" and took out the lyrics but replaced it with somethign that follows the same melody, as a replacer, I would still lvoe the song. Its 90% about the beat and 10% abotu the lyrics. I just so happened to lvoe those lyrics.

As far as jeezy goes, he gets my respect with his song about obama, mr. president. and shit like that.

I like weezy's song where he just goes onnnn and onnnnn about how ppl go to jail for weed and say there forever and the ppl that move in, in their place are rapists and shit. That song hits ****in low and he makes a few good points.

WOW, just cuz you dont like what I like dont mean you can diss the dude. More than likely you dis the dude for no other reason than your dislike of him due to different tastes in music.

No reason to make fun of him.

So to you I say, go **** her dick
