What mids do you have in your s-10?

I have a 2001 S-10 and I am looking for a componet set. I really like the Alpine 6.5" Pro componet set....The depth is 2.5". Is that too deep even with a spacer? I don't want to buy a set and then not have them be able to fit.

Any tips or suggestions would be nice.

SELKIES has a pair of alpine type x pro's that fit and sound really good. The only issue is the plastic door panel may have to be modified to keep the cone from impacting the back of the stock grille.

Did he cut out where the speaker goes or did he just trim it up a bit? I'd like to make it stealth as possible.

Also, what amp? I am trying to decide between a small amp under the front seat vs. a nice amp in the jump seat.

pretty sure he had an f450 behind the jump.

the panels on his did not get trimmed the last time I worked on it(has been a few months since I have seen him). but it needs to be done

I would try trimming first and then see if there is clearance....if not, then you can place an MDF ring on the outside of the speaker to push the door panel away from the cone.
