Obviously I need a battery, wire, terminals. but beyond that what else might I need?

I know there is like tons of stuff that is used for safety etc.

What should I be looking to need when I come to this?

Kind of nubby, but eh. Just double checking before I make an install mistake.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/word.gif.64b12e39f936af3b4fff38a1c0bd0244.gif thats about the most important thing, and be sure to cover up the poss. connection, so anything bouncing around wont ground it out, as I had a D A M N seatbelt buckle fall back under the seat of my x-cab,and grounded out my Stereo amp,and had to repair, as this could have been avoided by a simple plastic $3 cover, and cost me $200 after said and done to repair a $1000 amp? Who would have ever thought that would happen??It did to me(Jinxed!!).//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/slap.gif.87520e8ca8e90076ac30e777c0de5331.gif

Never would have even thought of that. But yeah I figured I would need something to keep it stable. I don't have anything in my car tied down whatsoever, which I'll need to fix once I upgrade no doubt. I'm thinking about putting the batt in the spare tire location. is this unsafe?

Whats Unsafe anymore??LOL! The new Equinox has a battery in the rear?Where you giong to put your spare? What kind of vehicle you have? The bolt down is what I use for a D a m n Good grounding point.I always build a false floor out of 3/4 plywood, and cover it with carpeting/or paint it black, or put it under existing carpet, and by the time you put the sub box in mount amps, it should be heavy enough tto stabilize Whatever??//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Good one ^ Definately need that.

Also to audiobaun I plan to remove my spare, It will be going into a 2003 jetta sedan. My car barley has any room to be doing anything false floor wise, i want to be able to use my trunk as much as possible. & I never thought to ground there. I might just end up doing that.

Spare tire i remove, scratch up the rod/bolt down run a washer down, then a nut, then my 8/4ga ground wire w a ring terminal, then another washer, then another nut, and sandwich it together, then place/bolt my spare back down:D Works just fine folks
