so now that i have installed some speakers in my car some of them seem to bottom out after i turn up the bass.. i rilly only want them for hi's so i figured i would put a highpass filter on them but i dont know how high i should go... i have infinity(tweeters) audiobahn(tweeters) kicker( tweeters) cerwina vega( 6.5 2 way speakers.. these seem to bottom out ALOT), and some jenson 6x9's( also have a bottoming out problem after alot of bass)...
so on the tweeters what kinda filter should i use? infinity(.5"), Audiobahn(1"), Kicker(came with crossovers .5")
5.5's 2way ( what lvl crossover ?)
6x9's 3way ( what lvl crossover ?)
re audio se( 2x 12's) ( i use the low pass filter on my amp lol)
When i get crossover's i was thinking of just adding inline crossovers instead of running a whole bunch of wires to a reciever / crossover ( alot less hastle and easier for me to do if i just do inline crossovers)
NOTE: all of these speakers are being powered by a stock non amplified deck... does not make sence to me why these would bottom out but they do. Also dont knock on the speakers if there no good lol i got them all for free... Great deal ide say. Also definatly not lookin to amplify the speakers seeing as they are already bottoming out.. i was going to use my 4channel and just use the highpass filter on it but then i beleave thats just more power for them to bottom out on and i also thought it would be alot of work to run all that wire to the amp just to use it as a crossover.( then i ran into the idea of using an inline crossover)
