i have two type r dual 4 ohm subs.....on the side of the woofer the Voice coils are aligned like so + - + -

i have the middle two wired together and the outer two gettin power str8 from the amp in the pos to pos and neg to neg fashion.....

any my amp has 4 outputs like so + + - -

and i have the pos of amp to pos of sub number 1 and neg of amp to neg of sub 1

and the same for the second sub....

what load would my amp be seeing in this situation cause im not sure if its right or not so ill wait till i get confirmation on what load it is

do you have one set of terminals on the sub wired to the other set pos to pos and neg to neg? then from one set of terminals to your amp + to + and - to -? if so then you have it wired to one ohm on a mono amp.

i think thats series.. which would give u a 8 ohm load.. do u want a 2 ohm load or 8 ohm? my guess would be your aiming for a 2 ohm load. if so have the positive terminals on the sub connected to each other and have the negatives on the terminals on the sub connected to each other. then have a positive from the amp to a positive on the sub and have a negative on the amp go to a negative on the sub. or if its a monoblock amp, i think u can just match each positive from the amp to each positive on the sub and each negative on the amp to each negative on the sub. either way, you'd have a 2 ohm load if im not mistaken //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

i said they were dual 4 ohm subs.... and yes the middle two terminals (pos and neg) are wired together

here this will be easier....i have the subs wired with the pos of one output to a pos of sub 1 and the neg of one output to the neg of sub 1....and on sub 1 i have the other 2 terminals (pos and neg) wired together..... and the same with the other sub, but using the last 2 terminals on the amp....so all 4 outputs are used on the amp...2 to one sub 2 to the other....

what do i need to do to get a 4 ohm load?

so is your amp 2 channels? if so then each one is wired at 8 ohm per channel. if it is a 2 channel you should wire it in series and bridge both channels to get a 4 ohm load as that will most likely get the most power out of your amp, unless it is 1 ohm stable.

edit: k just read last post, i think you need to do this - sub 1, sub 2 pos to amp channel 1 pos, sub 1, sub 2 neg to amp channel 2 neg, sub 1 other pos to sub 1 other neg, sub 2 other pos to sub 2 other neg.

its a mono amp.... not 1 ohm stable
