find a place on the same side that the battery is located on. then look for existing wires running through. that would be a good starting point. if you cant find any places, look for a flat surface in the engine compartment, then check whats behind it inside the car. if nothing is there and it is a good looking spot from the inside of the car, go for it. just make sure it wont look bad like out of place or directly in your sight. try to put it up and tucked in the corner. just make sure you dont drill through anything that should be drilled.
Alright, this install is giving me problems because there is so much matting (inside and in the engine compartment) it is hard to find a good place to go through. Also the battery is located on the left hand side on this car and the passenger dash is big and hard tp get under to drill. but thanks alot for the advice, i'll remeber it when i go do it.
dude, theres a rubber grommet right there for the factory wire going through. all u need to do it pull that rubber grommet then insert your power wire through there.
Naw there is no place along the rubber garments TRUST ME i spent a good hour looking, i kno what you mean tho ive done plenty of installs in where i did that instead of drilling . thanks tho. i think i found a good place after some more research and a friends advice im going to drill under the passenger dash, i found a good spot i think:crap:

Hey Alpine, I'm having the same problem in my 2001. There is very little space that is flat and accessible for drilling. Where did you decide to drill and how did it work out? It'd be great if you had some photos of it.
