What kinda budget am i looking at?

Hello all. I'm very new to the audio thing (i'm a vintage mustang / late model perforamance junky).

How much would a decent setup cost for a 60's mustang. I'm all about SQ! SQ SQ SQ! as for SPL all i want is something that can go further than my ears can take.. but you dont need to be hurting ears of cars next to me with the windows up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

How much am i looking to spend for something really decent, I'm talking a little better than higher end premium packages that come in cars these days, with more bass (enough to sound good and get some attention when i need to).

I'm thinking... head unit, amp, 6x9's in the rear, 6.5's up front (and possibly someing like 3's up front too) and perhaps a sub or 2 small subs.

Bang for buck is what i want.. and im kind of poor.

300-1500 start small and build up

I think you could do really well with about $1000, probably don't need 6x9's if you get a nice component set for up front.

Don't worry about the rear speakers unless you give a shit about the people bummin a ride from you...from what I've heard and read having rears will actually decrease SQ.
