hey i have an MTX 1501d and a hifonics nx600 amp and i want to mount them behind the rear seats in the trunk. i would be doing the job from the inside of the car with the seats folded down of course. what i want to do is have each amp on each seat (4-seater integra.. each rear seat can be folded down). i need a ?thin? piece of wood between the amp and rear seat.. basically the wood "bracket" would be screwed to the back seat and the amp would be screwed onto the "bracket". i dont want to just bolt the amps straight onto the seats becuz the back of the seats have indents of wavyness of some sort in it and the amps pre-set holes arent that easy to work with when screwing to the bacc of the seat. so how thick of a wood do i want and what kind? i'm not trying to get all fancy and pricey.. but something that'll just do the job.

use mulberry - and stain it up nice deep red color. it would be pretty.

Geez... you all are crazy. Lets start a plywood vs. MDF battle. I say he can use whatever he wants really. I have used both, both work well.

Main differences, (some mentioned before)

Plywood: usually cheaper (not by much), stronger/wont crack if flexed, more resistant to water, generally more durable, holds fasteners and screws better (multiple layers of material to adhere to)

MDF: looks better, easier to work with than plywood (in my opinion), doesnt leave those nasty sharp edges as with plywood, slightly more expensive, succeptible to water damage.

One man can't give another man a straight answer anymore?
