Right now i have 2 kicker 12" L7's being run by a kx1200.1, power and ground are 4 gauge and speaker wire is 12 gauge. and i have a 80 amp fuse by the battery, is this a good setup? or should my fuse or any wires be bigger? like 1/0gauge?

im askin this because the last 2 hifonics bx1500d's i had blew, so i was wondering if maybe the fuse was too small or something

1/0 would be better especailly if you want to upgrade later on. The fuse size wouldn't be a problem in the case with your amps blowing, the fuses would have blown first if it was pulling more amperage than the fuse was rated......

Upgrage to 1/0, get an ANL fuse holder and whatever amp fuse.

You don't have to upgrade now, but if you keep blowing your inline fuse and you're using a fuse that pretty much has the highest current rating as the power wire can handle, you should upgrade the power wire and get a higher rated fuse. Also, like on my Infinity mono amp, the rms it puts out is 1300W at 2 ohms, but the largest wire the amp can accept is 4 gauge.

also, i had the same setup. 2 12" l7s and the kx1200.1. the manual recommends at least a 150amp fuse. i have a 200amp breaker and 4gauge wire on mine. it worked. i actually blew my subs. then i accidentally popped the breaker on, with the car running and fried my amp. i never once popped the breaker. i had it for about 3 months. now i'm going with a 13w7, and if i can get my 1200.1 fixed, i'll use it. (tested at 1478 @1ohm.). anyways, hope this helps.
