what kind of box will make this system PUNCH

whats up guys . new here. just wondering what the deal is with my system. i want my system to be more PUNCHY rather than boomy . here is my setup

SONY XPLOD XM-ZR1852 amplifier

2 Polk Audio db1040DVC 10" Dual 4-ohm Voice Coil

sealed sub box made by me out of MDF . rectangle, split into 2 sections. entire box measures 36x11x16 (i think), double MDF'ed the front, piece in middle separating 2 sections.

this is hooked up to a stock head unit in an 06 audi a4 using a hi-low converter. 4 gauge wiring.

how can i make this stock HIT rather than drag out bass lines. smaller enclosure? better amp?

Is your box ported or sealed? From your description, it appears to be sealed...but if for whatever reason it is ported, your subs will certainly sound much more 'boomy'

If your sealed box is too big or...not sealed so well...then it'll sound more "boomy" too

Are your subs wired at 1 or 4 ohm?

Porting it will make it sound better. More power too
