- MDF is preferred because of it's density, but more and more people are using birch ply these days.

- Birch is lighter than mdf and many people find it easier to work with.

- Building an enclosure with certain cabinet grade materials is fine, but it can get pricey.

was thinking of waste from a 4x8 sheet of theMDF or ply, if all about the same sonically
