what kind of amplifier should i get?

ok. so with the 2 subs at 1400w in each sub, a 1000 rms at 1ohm mono block amp should do the trick? is there a certain brand thats better that i should get or any brand will do?(srry for all the questions im kind of illiterate when it comes to car audio lol)
Just really depends on your budget. Like said already. Max ratings mean nothing. So don't go by those. Go by rms ratings. In your case it's 400 each. A bit over is fine

Your subs only take 400rms don't look at the "max" look at the RMS number so your subs together will need 800watts RMS so yes an amp that says 1000rms x1 at 1ohm is what your looking for.. Like mylows10 said he should be able to find you something for around $150 and he wont sell you crap like shops will. So private message him and see what he has available for you.

oh ok so you don't go by the peak max number. you go by the RMS number? aiight. yea before i found this forum i ended up asking this same question on a few forums and i think one of them might have been yahoo answers. and one person wrote that you dont pay attention to the RMS number that you pay attention to the peak max.

im glad that i found this forum with everyone that knows what there talking about.
