What Is Wrong

Ok my sub keeps turning off and on....... power light on the amp is always lit, but the problem is is that the sub turns off, i spent 15 minutes just watching it and every now and then it will move up and down once,but its a slow movement, not like a hit or anything. My sub has been turning off and on now for a few days.. now im wondering if this is the amp or electical.... still yet to check my rca cables on my headunit.

ok i turn up the volume and it only starts moving when the volume is like 10 clicks before distortion kicks in, its like theres like not enough power being sent to it, like it just doesnt have enough to be hitting the notes, the sub just moves up and down. and when i turn my car on the sub moves even more..

Bottom out? maybe ur giving it too much power.

the sub? cuase the gains are set less than half right now, and does bottoming out make a noise? cause its silent

Try hooking it up to another amp and see if the sub works. Also check the wiring of the sub. Make sure all the connections are good and its wired right.

Bottoming out wouldnt make any sounds, just machanical sounds from the sub moving back and forth. But now that I think about it, its probably not ur problem. But yea try the old amp again.

ok the sub started playing again, but the volume is fluctuating, like its loud one second then noticably quiet the next. Would this mean its most definitly a power or wire problem? or what the amp maybe not giving steady power?

did u try checking the voltage at the amp, and the voltage at the battery? maybe bad connections along the way.

sounds like a loose wire somewhere or maybe your fuse is kinda half blown? ....if thats even possible?

does this cancel out there being a loose rca cable? and leaves it to power and wire? i think i need to buy a voltmeter then, but i made sure all the power connections are securly where they are sopposed to be.

Check the power wire and all the connections to the amp and battery and then get back to us.

could be a bad RCA output from the HU, did u try hooking up a CD player to the Amp?

one of the 3.5mm to RCA Cables

ok i checked all the wire connections and they were secure, but is it bad that i can pull the fuse at my battery apart easily?
