What is wrong with people?

Well last night our dogs were going in and out of the doggy door into the back yard which is normal. However, at around 8pm I watched them go out but they never returned which I didn't notice until around 9pm.

I went out in the back and noticed that our loving neighbor had damaged his side of the fence, and in the police's words "on purpose", to allow them to have access to roam free around the neighborhood. I went looking with no success so I knocked on the neighbor's door to see what was going on. I was meet by a kid around mid 20's with a golf club telling me "You should be lucky I didn't kill them!!"..... We obviously took great offense to this and didn't understand how anyone could be upset with out dogs. They are both well mannered and friendly and almost never bark or anything. Well to continue on, the neighbor kept ranting on about what ever and this was upsetting Amber more and more so I coaxed him out of his house and into his front yard. Once he realized he was out side and vulnerable he lifted the club as if to swing, but he never noticed that Amber had her mace out. She ran in and sprayed him down with it. He then started screaming and swinging the golf club like a mad man randomly. So I just took him to the ground and held him down till the police showed up.

If that was not enough we still have yet to recover our lost pets. We are heading to check out the human society here to see if they may have been picked up by animal control.

Also, please note this is not the first time something has happened with this neighbor, there is a rather large back story with him(even though it only dates back to April) that is very colorful and shows his blatant disregard for humanity and kindness.

Me personally I still think I should have just beat the crap out of him last night when I had the chance, but of course I was doing my best to think logically and to keep myself out of bad situation.

I live at the end of a long dead end street.

It is just me and my neighbor here, nearest next neighbor is a good 1/2 mile away.

A few months ago my neighbor told me that my 2 small few month old puppies were in his corn field, I told him I was sorry and i would watch for them going there, he told me not to worry about it....a few days later they were both dead..we had to watch them slowly die for hours and hours. I think he gave them anti-freeze. No way I can prove anything. I have only 1 neighbor and he is such a POS it is hard to believe.

I feel bad for you bro and I hope you find your dogs safe.

Typical neighbor hood stuff... If this was in the "hood" the neighbors pit bull they use for fighting would have got ahold of them...

Try putting some cooked meat out with dog food... Yea this might bring every stray cat dog possum raccoon or homeless person but may find you dog(s) sitting on the porch in the morning!! Lol

I think you're leaving out a lot of the story the way you describe it it doesn't make sense to me. What was all said in the conversation with your neighbor? how did it escalate to violence? You make it sound like you showed up said hi we're wondering how our dogs got out and where they might be, and then he said fuq your dogs, you're lucky I didn't kill them then attacked you for no good reason.

P.S. your neighbor is a total dousche for doing that, I'd of had trouble holding back from kicking his face in too, your dogs look sweet and dogs are part of the family with me you mess with them you mess with my family.

Call all the local vets, put up flyers around the neighborhood, and file a missing dog report with the police, theres also an online lost dog posting place where you can put the info and people will call you if they find them. Good luck to you I'm sure you're an emotional wreck worried about them and angry at your neighbor.

In all I think I may have gotten a few sentences out. He was acting as if he expected me to come barging through the front door or something. I have never shown any type of hostile action toward him or anything. Even though there have been issues in the past ,it has never been this dramatic. I wish I could say more but that is all I know. On the other hand, I did have every intention on getting to the bottom of how/why the damage to the fence occurred and such, but I never had the chance to even asking anythign except for .. "So, what happened to the fence"..and then it went straight down hill after that.

Thanks everyone, Max has been with us for just over 5 years and Buster was adopted this year at the end of April. I'm very upset but Amber is taking it very hard as Max is her baby. I hope all goes well and our recovery efforts prove fruitful.
