Lol me as well, I also love the idea that you can run ALL soundstream. so everything could match... Besides the HU anyway..

It makes me want to become a PA dealer. I do like matching amps, but I'd still question the sq quality vs the old SS. Some people on here are too young to understand how good the old SS stuff was. I still don't see any real comparisons to other amps worth listening to. A guy selling his AQ2200d because he feels a Dtr1.3400d is better, is an unfair comparison. I had a problem with the Sq of one of the newer SS eq's, and there was nothing wrong with it. I won't go into the details, but it didn't perform well enough imo. This thread does make me want to try the Rubicon line.

It looks like the guy selling the aq2200 swapped it out for the ss dtr2200.1 (which seems like a pretty fair swap), which is 1 ohm stable, the dtr3400.1 is .5 ohm stable from the factory, as is the TX (Tarantula) 2600d. Factory .5 ohm stability, great stuff...

That's still just one persons review. I need to hear it for myself. Some people think Pioneer heads sound just as good as Alpine heads, but they don't. This guy might be right, but I doubt it? So far, I've never been impressed with an under dog amp. That still doesn't mean I won't use the Rubicon in the future. I just can't see it competing with the old SS. I'm not looking for the perfect amp, but being as good as the old stuff are big shoes to fill. If it even comes close to the AQ that's good enough for me because of the low SS prices.
