What is the point in using expensive rcas?

I just replaced my head unit to a JVC Arsenal KDAH79 and i needed another set of rcas to run the rear speakers on the amp. I just found a pair of old home audio rcas that even have the video plug on it so i just decided to try these out and they work just as well as high end rcas so I was wondering what is the point in buying 50+ dollar rcas when these simple UNSHIELDED ones work just as well with 0 noise pickup. They are even run along a power wire

This^^^ generally you won't get that lucky to have unshielded rcas not pick up noise

i'm using cheap home rca's that i got from target and i have no noise

I'm betting you don't have them next to your power cable though right? From my experiance cheap rcas just seem to pick up noise easily... not saying they do for everyone. I tried it for awhile and it didn't work for me...

yep that's what I meant when I said he was lucky, OP said his ran next to the power cable. I'm also more into SQ so any tiny bit of noise that my front stage picks up makes me crazy
