What is the loudest records holding subwoofer\subwoofers in size.

I'll have to admit Tommy did give me a good box design...
Not so much a whole design, but rather the port/sub layout. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Didnt you **** it up then **** up a sub? Or was that another design? lawl
That's because clif=the n00bxcakes.

In conclusion, it's interesting how similar two totally different competitions seem to work in such parallel.

Some think chasing tenths is a waste of time, just has when I spend hours and hours building models chasing a few hundred basis points, people think I am wasting my time.

I am find it contradictory I am willing to settle for John Q Average stereo system when I am quite interested in competing, yet I spent Friday night at home trying to perfect this model I am building...(I am pretty confident of my strat now)

The big issue with people thinking that we are "wasting our time" is that car audio is a HOBBY. It always has been. I'm not sure why people think money is involved and that this is somehow a sport in which we should be receiving money for competing.

It's funny how people think I'm wasting my money by building boxes all the time and going to competitions, yet people who spend thousands of dollars on sports equipment with absolutely no return on their investment are considered "normal".

Oh well.

Knowing the education behind the competitors enhances my respect for them. I am way too shy to actually meet the people in person, however.

You've stopped by the Team Daily camp a few times, so I dont wanna hear that BS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

As far as education is conerned, im sure of you know what my engineering backround is, so I wont repeat it.... sometimes I think its kinda unfair that people like me compete against others who dont have any engineering background. Traversely ive been amazed at how some people with absolutely no engineering background can still get thier setup loud by just using the "test and rebuilt" methodology. I know a competitor that can barely type much less form logical senetnces well, and still does a 159 in a CRX //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif...... just goes to show you its a diverse competitor base.

I guess you didn't notice me walk past your jeep about six times before gaining the courage......

That was the point of the comment, to learn more about the competitor base. I have a good idea about the people who frequent this forum, but not as much about others.

As for sentence structure, shouldn't it be conversely instead of transversely?

On the issue of keeping the coil linear, I once saw a woofer that had a spider on the bottom end of the coil. Does that not work well? Or is it just an unexplored idea?
I have seen pics of woofer's built that way, but have never experimented with any of them. Personally, I think it's a good idea, but I don't think it has been experimented with all that much.

talking about competitions and such, the guys at my local car audio shop kinda drilled into my head that SPL dynamics is a very good brand for amps and have been used in the loudest cars. and apparently SPL dynamics amps and the most commonly used for competitions

On the subject of coil alignment, I bet some kind of very dense non-reactive fluid suspension would help. Of course, that would be expensive as ****, hard to design, and a hell of a lot more complicated than your average SPL woofer. It would be cool as **** though.
I'm not sure exactly how subwoofers work but another idea would be a magnetic field perpendicular to that of the coil, with a functional radius small enough to keep the coil away from the gap. Kind of like how particles in a super collider are kept in the center of the accelerator.
