Knows nothing
That is your opinion based on what you have heard. I know you have not heard a Stereo Integrity BM mkIII or BM mkIV because you would not say that. The BM mkIV has a VERY low F3 in the tiny 0.5 ft^3 enclosure size that is recommended. Low end extension and shallow mounting depth no longer go hand-in-hand...especially with high quality, well designed, subwoofers. Case in point is the Power Bass S-124 woofer compared to the BM mkIV. The PB woofer has an F3 of 61 Hz in 0.5 ft^3 sealed where as the BM mkIV has an F3 of 36 Hz in 0.5ft^3 sealed. More Xmax, more peak excursion, MUCH more low end extension. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifget what you pay for the mounting depth on the sundown is only 5 inches and 2 me shallow subs never sound that good. no low end extension.
It really comes down to what you want out of your shallow mount woofer. If you want it to just make noise/boocockey then the options are endless. Choose your woofer based on price because the quality of the sound means nothing. However, if you want it to actually produce bass below 50 Hz your options narrow very quickly. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
