What is the best box to stick a 1st gen RE XXX in?

Right now its in a 1 cube sealed pre-fab box because of my car and trunk space issues, but very shortly I am getting an Acura MDX, so trunk space is no longer an issue. I want this thing to be at its fullest potential. I listen to all kinds of music, rock, rap, techno, anything. I pretty much want the best balance of pure SPL and good sound quality. The sub is a 12 inch running off of a elemental designs nine.1 amp. So what kind of box and what size should I go with?

wow sorry, i completely forgot to mention that. 12 inch. Its not the newer XXX, is it the older one that sold for like 375 new.

realistically, how hard is it to build the box myself? I am not very inclined at all to building things, but id love to save some money. Also, how much of a difference will it make realistically even putting it in a new box? Right now its pretty loud, but not insane or anything. But i want it to be insane in my new car if at all possible.

its not hard to do. jus make sure you get all your cuts right. i found the best glue is titebond II. make sure when your screwing the box together you pre drill the holes. i dunno what else to tell ya.

my xxx15 was PERFECT in 4 cubs @ 28Hz......perfect balance of SQ and SPL

for a 12 id say 3 cubs @ 32Hz....
