alright - I have internal measurments on a ported box for a pair of reX8s

internal air space NET ends up being .92 cubes after port and disp. and bracing

my internal port measurements are 2" by 8" by 18.5" long.

can anyone figure out what tuning hz this will bring for me ?

id like to shoot for 35hz if I can leingthen it or shorten it by a small amount is ok to find 35hz

im going to start cutting up the wood tomorrow.

thanks.

son of a ****. that simply cant happen.

can I try to shrink down the port opening some ? or will that start to choke off the subs ?

maby go down to 1.75" x8" x18.5 ? or would it need to be 1.5" x 8" x 18.5" ?

I cant realley go any longer on the port than 20"

the box is a bit oddly shaped and going between my front and rear seats in my old school whip that used to have a fold down arm rest on the front bench I took out.

this box is a sealed unit I made - but did not like due to having one sub firing fowards...

new design is both subs firing bckwards and port at the top -

trunk is filled with hydraulics and batterys - so no chance at a sub box back there

super duper lol at this quick sketch of placment haha

Try using round/aero ports. And I hope the new box will be built with mdf instead of plywood. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/help.gif.cee8f684da1ba626487a8bc51152e1ec.gif
What's wrong with plywood? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Good plywood is stronger and lighter than MDF...

are you sure you can't increase the size at all, and/or port length........ at 1 cu, 1.75 is the smallest you want to go, and you are not going to get better than 40hz without going more than 20" i take it they are 8's in the box? perhaps raising the rear of the box some. you are going to have to figure what you want and budge more somewhere. longer port; bigger box;higher frequency......

oh, and fiberglass is always an option....
