How big is the rear deck? If you have the space, I would remove the rear speakers and work on ventilating the rear deck a little bit more as well. From there, as long as the space between the enclosure and the rear deck is open, it really doesn't matter which way the subs face, good sound will get into the cabin. If possible, I would actually have the subs fire up into the well ventilated rear deck, rather than down.Since the enclosure will be firmly attached to the cars frame, I was going to leave it sealed, or play with porting. I am a fabrication pro, just not at this subwoofer technical stuff. Please don't criticize too much. I am trying to understand. I mounted my truck subwoofers in a box welded to the chassis, under the truck. Enough bass to send a crack up my windshield. I figured, a sub box is a box. As long as bass is produced and heard, it didn't matter. Like I said, still learning.
I was considering closing off the rear deck and laying a pair of 4" Morel Elites on tom of a well deadened surface. I Am pretty apposed to porting the enclosure at this point. I am also learning that a single 12" Morel Ultimo (non SC) at 1500 rms + will be plenty. How big is the rear deck?
