What is a "powered" speaker then?

If you do a Google search for "JVC CS-GS5120" it comes up with a 12" sub, listed by many different retailers as a powered speaker. What exactly does that mean? The item doesn't look like what I think of as a powered speaker so it stands to reason that the term 'powered' has multiple meanings? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Very true, however I also am having trouble finding a speaker that would appear to fit the bill, several have tweeters and a woofer, but not a sub...
