What imports aren't ricers?

your wrong eugenics that does not equal displacement... Thats like saying if i put a 460 ford in my fox body i am going to beat an sti.. which i wont.. its not all about displacement, its not really about how much fuel and air either, a lot of you have not a clue. Suspension, tires, vehicle weight (which is why the gto you posted can barely outrun a stock 4.6) parasitic loss.. like the ls1 camaro is an awesome small block 350, that has heads made by god himself from the factory, and just with a cam and intake manifold and belt over 450 horses to the fly.. a 460 ford cant do that. Its not about displacement anymore. in the 60's 70's company's had 0 technology which is why they figured the bigger the motor the faster, but seriously now big motors are just heavy...
There is no replacement for displacement. Motor efficiency and top end technology does make a big difference, but there is a reason why street car shootout guys are running big big blocks. Sure there are some small blocks in the crowd, but the motors don't seem to hold up as well as they have to be turned so high to produce the same amount of HP, or take on more nitrous, or more boost.

eugenics your retarted.. Im admitting thats sti's evos, supras are very fast. You think that theres no replacement for displacement right??? your wrong, i know because look at the freakin beemers coming out! technology makes horsepower! technology makes horsepower thats my bottom line!

o and be more specific, a pontiac 400ci with WHAT fi?? versus which 172 ci with what fi? because im betting on the 172

lol i know what im talking about ive only been building motors since i was 9 and im 17.. boces for auto mechanics.. 5 years of auto technician class.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH You're 17... Ok. I get it now.

If your talking about diesel trucks, that quite possibly could be considered the new rice type craze.
Ever seen European truck races? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I don't know what any of this thread has to do with "ricers"...seems to me like people waving their e-penii around. But I'm not really a car person either.

now where gonna go into that an immature 17 year old dont know what hes talking about. Guaranteed id throw any of you under the table with anything to do with cars. Have any of you ever built a motor? any of you actually know how a motor works? not just spark explosion in out. Im not trying to be an ass or cocky, im just saying dont tell me im wrong when im not. Im not wrong when i say there IS a replacement for displacement, and its technology. I have a **** 5.0 and im saying that.

Haven't seen the European truck races, but I dig this truck:

There are a handful of mod motors and sbc's, but the most are big blocks and mountain motors. Oh, and the one 2JZ-GTe, which is fast haha.

On the street to a certain point technology will own, but technology plus cubes isn't too bad either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

After all the work thats been done to that S2000, theres no chance in hell its as cheap as a vette, or as reliable.
It is a daily driven car, it has had NO issues since we've had it on boost, and as for being cheap, I can tell you it cost a pretty penny, but its a hell of a lot cheaper than that lingenfelter vette shown before, and just as fast. InlinePro already has a 9 second 1/4 mile S2000 at about 600-650 rwhp.

on pumpgas with a 3yr/36k mile warranty? Not sayin a 9 second s2000 isn't the ****, but theres a reason why the lingenfelter comes with a pricetag like that. It has the performance of the above mentioned S2k, but doesn it on pumpgas with a warranty.

Na not necessarily on pump gas, but contrary to popular belief (whoever said the F20C Honda motor in the s2k is weak is absolutely RETARDED!) a lot of these higher number s2000's running forced induction are doing so on a stock block. A headgasket is all thats needed to run 18-20 psi, which is a lot for an already high compression motor. Like I said, it is reliable as well. The car has been daily driven. And yes, there has to be some pretty crazy drivetrain upgrades once the hp/tq numbers get up there, but ONLY if you drag race the car. Don't forget that with a boost controller you can ride around all day on low boost and have it not kill your engine! And also remember, its producing 500+ rwhp, in a 2 liter engine. Thats pretty efficient if you ask me.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love an 03/04 cobra with big ole nasty kenne bell S/C, or some sort of corvette or viper. Hell I detailed a viper once, drove it, and had to be one of the craziest things I've ever been in. I'm not all about honda, but I hate when people put it down that don't know what the cars are capable of.

800hp supra or Skyline GTAARARARRRRRRRRR if they a ricers let me eat rice as ill watch a GTRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR with full N1 race spec engine still street legal smash a musclr car all day all night even though i love mucsle as we got a modern muscle car well ute well its a 2 door monararo type thing with a big big trunk it like a 2 door sports car with a truck bed behind it drives like a car and sits like a car and has a L98 6L GM 450-500hp engine in it mind you we get belted by GTRRRRRRRRRRRRRs all the time and the odd supra we see with a big sigle turbo conversion and the full house jzeeeeeeeeeeee engine blowing 800+ hp at the back whells smokes us to and we go around corners sideways with heapo smoke they can do that too but generally they can go around powering especially the GTRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Nobody cares about 1/4 mile times. The S2000 cant keep up on an actual track. Beyond that its not near as reliable as the vette.

500hp out of a 2 liter engine isn't that impressive. Efficient? How much fuel is it using? A LOT.

Rednecks care about 1/4 mile times //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Hah but aside from that, the S2000 even in stock form is considered an amazing track car, just lacking in power needed in between the twists. Put a set of R-compounds on that thing and with the power it has and I'm pretty sure it'll beast it on the track. The car has been autocrossed, and taken to road courses, and the 1/4 mile. It's seen it all and held up wonderfully.

How are those numbers not impressive? That is 250 hp per liter. For a vette to reproduce those numbers it would have to be pushing about 1500 hp to the WHEELS. Remember, its to the WHEELS, not the flywheel. That means at about 520 rwhp, thats 600+ flywheel hp, and at 600 rwhp, its **** near 700 flywheel.

As for the fuel, you think hes riding around on high boost all day long? It's not horrible on fuel. Of course once he is on high boost, and giving it full throttle, it eats fuel. You can't even argue that a v8 engine sips fuel when you're hard on the gas. Once you get up into high horsepower numbers, theres a very small difference between how much fuel you are using at full throttle in one car vs another.

Could it keep up on R compound tires? Possibly. But not if the vette was on race rubber as well. And the amount of suspension mods as well as chassis strengthening would be tremendous. Even then you would likely end up with a vehicle that ends up having to make up time in the straight aways. The chassis simply was not built with that kind of power in mind. You know, you could load up a lotus elise with that kind of power too, but it wouldn't mean ****. Beyond that. Once you put enough money into an S2k that it could handle that power and keep up with the competition you would've already spent GT/ZR-1/GT2 money.

There is a reason why manufacturers don't put cars on the street making that kind of power with that kind of displacement. Simply put, the cars will not last under every day conditions especially while being driven hard. Of course the vette is not putting down the same amount of power. That would be foolish. So that argument is under water.
