What I need to own a gun??

Im really thinking of starting a gun collection and on my free time, Going to the shooting range. What do I need to own my first gun. I have no criminal history, warants or any legal problems whatsoever.

My first gun That I want to purchase is a chrome Desert Eagle. Will this Pistol be hard to purchase and does anybody know what I can expect to pay??

Expect to pay well over $1k. They're not real easy to find...

for a desert eagle a sh*t load of money plus they arent very practical (heavy plus the ammo is overkill and also expensive) but if u still into one heres an idea http://www.gunsamerica.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=desert+eagle ... i would just stick with a .45 acp or a 9mm

I know IL has some retarted gun laws, so you might want to start reading sites that talk about individual state and city laws. A car audio site isn't exactly the best site to get firearm info, if you know what I mean.

You shouldnt but as Mattf said, read up on your local laws or with the NRA in your area...

I do believe that IL requires people to have a Firearm Owners Identification Card(FOID)
