So here is what my eventual goal is and what i currently have.
I have a kenwood x598 head unit which only gives me 3 bands of EQ..so almost useless. It has a center frequency for all 3 bands...still pretty **** useless..
ive got Hertz energy esk 165.5 components. Running active off a sundown 150.4 amp.
ive got a Sundown sa-12 in a custom ported box on a 1000rms cerwin vega amp.
What would the next best step be in upgrading sound quality? I plan on insulating doors as well.
Would it be better to get a sound processor or would it be better to get a Deh-80prs?
Does a aftermarket headunit that isnt super good(mine was $150) hold back the sound quality of a sound processor? Ive heard the sound processor De-Eqs everything from the HU and gives itself a flatline to work with.
My source to HU would be a newer gen ipod running lossless files.

Hertz mille 2 ways. or Clarus C61-2 2-way because both were very highly rated speakers. As well as i trust hertz because my energy's sound quality is phenomenal.
As far as sound processors go. Ive heard good things about the ms-8 and the 3sixty.3 as well as they are huge headaches.(software issues, terrible UI, little quirks for either like the ms8 needing subs to be off so it doesnt create a drastic slope while trying to flatline frequencies. )
Ive heard nothing but good for audison bit one/ten...cept its ridiculously expensive.
What should i do next, what should i get next?
