i mean same setup but subs inverted..still having the amps in the middle..like this....... SUB 0 AMP 0 SUB....on top of the box you know what i mean...i know it will not hurt anything if the magnets were inside the box..but what if they were outside the box and everything else is the same
ex:if you have a ported enclosure and its tuned high above 35 hz.......by playing tones or music below the tuning frequency without a SSF (subsonic filter) can damage your subwoofer.
thanks..i think thats what i wanted to hear...cause my subs are outta the old box just sittin in the back of my suv with the old sub box outta my suv..the subs are next to my amp...i will keep HU turned off till i get everything installed
His example had nothing to do with what i said. I was talking more about sub used in a HT setup. Please explain.
Was that for me? Cause that has nothing to do with what showrides said. Just asking if you were trying to put up an example for what he said.
Never heard that. His example had nothing to do with what i said. I was talking more about sub used in a HT setup.
For example, when I hooked up my mag to a home theater amp there was no crossover and the sub was playing a large range of frequencies. Subs aren't designed to play over 100hz and after playing them like that for long periods of time you can damage the sub. Subwoofers are not designed to have their coils sit at rest playing high frequencies, so don’t play it without a crossover.
I wasn't sure when I was building my HT. So I called Nick up about it and that is what he said.
lionel, underpowering doesn't hurt a sub. thats like saying putting 2 gallons of gas in an SUV will damge itcause i gotta drive them over to the install shop....and its a long drive
yah, that only damages the SUV's pridelionel, underpowering doesn't hurt a sub. thats like saying putting 2 gallons of gas in an SUV will damge it
