what HU do i need?

ok all the speakers in my car gonna be amp driven so...will the equalizer,bass boost and other options in the HU even affect the speakers? are there and cd player hus that are made just to act as an eqaulizer for all amplified systems?

Alpine cda-7995 is one of those head units that doesnt include an internal amplifier. It may be something you are looking for but even the Alpines that DO have the internal amplifier, you can turn on "defeat" and it turns the internal amp off.

cool,see cause i was looking at the alpine cda9811...so the equalizers in the HU will work on my speakers even though they are amp driven..

Alpines that DO have the internal amplifier, you can turn on "defeat" and it turns the internal amp off.

I have an alpine and if i remember correctly defeat does not turn off the internal amp, it "Defeats" all equalization (turns it off) so everything is flat.. i'm not sure if it affects the crossover also or not off the top of my head.. it might make it full range though.. There should be a setting in the setup that lets you turn off the internal amp and all or most alpines (higher end ones anyways). Defeat may be the term they use to turn off the internal amp in the setup also, but i dont think so.

when i turn mine off...all speakers cut out and all i get is bass from my sub.
