The local Pioneer Elite guys have one of these Displays and had it hooked to the Pioneer Elite Prototype Blue-Ray Player. All I can say is it was the best most realistic picture I have ever seen...

Thanks Dude.....
I'm rather happy with it so far....
I know you watch movies a lot, but wait till you get back to campus and are SO disappointed b/c of our shitty cable feed. Might just have to wing a dish out the window. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Now I didn't take the time to read the whole thread, but I felt I'd share a little insight.

TV's scan patterns are either interlaced or progressive.

Interlaced refers to the odd lines scanning first, then the even ones following.

Progressive is when the lines are scanned from top to bottom.

With progressive, if you take a snapshot of a still frame of motion, it'll be blurry, Thats because half of the current frame is scanned, and half of the other frame is left over. Progressive is said to have a better standing picture quality.

Interlaced is said to look better with motion, and more crisp.

With that being said, I have a samsung 50in DLP 1080I tv //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

no offense but at 17, you sure it's not like the family tv? just curious as most rooms that aren't a master bedroom don't accomadte a 50" to well, i know my parents old 40" looked big in my up stairs master in my parents house.

It's a rear projection dude, not a LCD or DLP. And the list price for it is 1600. Here's a link of exactly what I have... http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-PT-53X54-Widescreen-Projection-HDTV-Ready/dp/B00021ZVJM
this is why i said what i said "

Got myself a 53" Pioneer HDTV. Bought for a grand brand new at a local CC....how did I manage to do that, you ask?? Walked into the store at the right place, right time. So far, I'm pretty happy with it. Still working on getting more cabling for the H/K receiver to the TV and such to get better picture.
".
i was responding as you said pioneer and pioneer makes a few 53" tv's but i don't think any are 07's.

It is our family TV, I didn't buy it, nor did I even pay a dime towards it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif It was my dad's present to himself and our family. But it's the only TV I honestly watch, besides the tiny like 15inch in my room //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I am however in a class that prepares me for a career in media technology, so I learned about TV's and radio and a whole lot of other stuff.

But yeah, our TV barely fits, I think we have like 3/4in on each side haha
