what happens when an EE goes to court to fight a speed camera ticket?

I literally just typed and printed this out to be laminated and hung from my rearview. You sir, are my hero. May I ask where you attended school?
Hell... I could type up something a helluva lot better than that. PM me the city and I will review your ordinance and let you know what your options are.

Course, you need to factor in the actual ordinance. Some say that you cannot be a nuisance... Which doesn't need a dB meter to enforce.

Univ. of WI, Platteville. Excellent program. I chose them over 50 I reviewed and over 10 I visited.

Penn State is one of the better Acoustics programs.

Univ of IL , Champaign is one of the best Electrical Engineering programs ( I almost attended)

i just found a loophole for my window tint thanks to joo.

I believe the civil war proved that not true. State of Iowa needs to perhaps look at cutting spending instead of putting in random 100$ toll machines to fleece citizens.
Considering the perferated condition of stop signs up in Maine, I don't think cameras woud fly to far up there.
I read an article quoting the Iowa Governor saying he would sign a bill to ban them.

They generate revenue. Payments are sent to CMA in NYC. Then the city gets a kick-back.
i can verify the talking. being on the phone with you i cant get a word in edge wise.
HAHAHAHA, I was thinking the same thing. But it's something interesting. Better than when I'm at work listening to some drunken idiot dribble on at the bar.
no, this is in IA. so you have no reason to worry... except your ability to read. :)

IL has plenty of money... it just goes into the pockets of a few key organizations. corruption is expensive.
This post just earned you your first dislike ever.... courtesy of @mazdakid. Problem bro?

that would be hearsay.
you must first carefully read the ordinance, and understand all of its limitations. You need to use their ordinance against them.

Then you must formulate a defense that is based on sound science - provide documentation in the form of published papers/text/studies that validate your methods.

Then you must be respectful and polite - earn their respect.

Lastly, you need to know the information well and have a good understanding of the science behind your defense.

I will say that the main reason my arguments were accepted is because of my degree and professional experience.
for instace, here, we have a "50ft rule"... basically, if a cop can hear it from over 50', you can get a ticket. they really don't hand out such tickets, and simply only use the cause to make a stop. biggest thing people do, is measure the distances, which is often at an intersection and under 50'. aside from that, you could point out that "bass" frequency range is omnidirectional, and the human ears officially cannot detect the point source. as long as you do not admit it was you, or that you even heard it, in some cases, they really cannot prove it was you , with other vehicle being present/near. like i said, it's a headache for them here, so no sitting at intersections by yourself with your vehicle vibrating, and they leave you alone. (i even have the camshaft excuse for idle shake/vibration).

our ordinance is audible from 75' away. but they cannot not prove it was my vehicle. they can "think" it's me, but not prove it's me. i would fight any noise ticket whether they use a dB meter or not.

that said, i mute or pause when i pass cops. no reason to give them reason. i also turn it down at street lights - no one thinks the guy blasting his stereo is cool. i enjoy music, but the volume just needs to overcome the background.

here, it is $75 on the first offense, and
