What happened to the bandpass hype?

I've built both 4th and 6th order bandpass boxes for SI BMs that sound pretty good. The 6th order doesn't have fantastic transient response but sounds pretty good on Rap / R&B music... plus it's incredibly efficient. The 4th order box sounds every bit as good as ported.

whats the differince between a 4th and 6th order bandpass, build wise?

4th order has one sealed and one ported chamber with the woofer between the two. 6th order has two ported with the woofer between the two. 8th order has two ported with the woofer between the two and a port between the two chambers IIRC. 2/3 is also a form of bandpass.

Does this refresh the Savard boner?? These bandpass boxes were the absolute pinnacle of the box hype back in 1995.
