what got you into bass?

my father was always into the loud home audio, then i also remember a relatives buddys who had an s10 with 6 15s in it, this was back in like late 80s early 90s , you could hear that thing come through the valley for ever.... besides that i was always the kid who wanted speakers instead of toys when i was little no one ever understood that...lol.....oh well.....lol.....

i got into an argument with a friend.

My cousin had always had systems and helped me do mine when I turned 15.

I had 2 of the first ever L7 10s (the first year solo barrics were square) and a kicker zr240.

I couldn't get my ******* of a dad to help me build the boxes so me and my MOTHER built the boxes and wrapped them in the carpet you buy at autozone and walmart in the rolls

well I had a friend with 3 crossfire P1 12s and a bmf 1000d and he was talking trash saying my speakers were garbage and he was so much louder then me...blah blah blah

so I did 4 L7 10s on 4 zr240s...was 10x louder then his.

Then he did 6 p1 12s ported and 2 1000ds and was louder them me.

So I put a snugtop on my truck and did 2 crossfire xt15fs and 2 tsunami 1100ds....

he did 4 15s and 2kw

so I said screw it and cut the truck out and did 12 10s on 2000 watts, would do a 162 on the old termlab mics so around a 156/157 on the new meters and he never even got close.

So getting into it with a friend caused me to keep building and adding and it just went from there.

I had a cousin with a Daytona Shelby Z with 2 12' Lanzar subs back in 92 or so. I saw the cones a bouncing and felt the bass and was hooked. Everyone thought it was a phase, and here we are 16 years later and still going through this phase!!!

Always loved loud music, and when I got a car...I always listened to the stereo loud(stock at the time)..

So I went to a friend who is an Car audio wizard here locally and it's all history from there..

He got me into PPi, Sundown , Fi, DD....and I've been slammin since.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Hearing my friend's two MA audio 10s. Thought shit was super loud. Then i got my own car and put in 2 12s, and he can't even touch me. Now thinking about it, out of all my friends with systems no one can touch me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

When I was a freshman i went to a football game and heard all these seniors that had parked there cars in a circle and were just playing there stereos.

I decided then i was going to be the loudest where i live eventually.

And now i am by far //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif lol but then again. When i bought my DD subs, everyone was like "DD, sounds like an off brand...why no sony xplods!?"

When I was around 10 and hearing a acura legend driving down my street. I was playing with my hot wheels cars in the drive way and felt the bass I stared at the car the whole time.

was a roady and sound guy for bands then started renting my rig and services to raves. I never felt a need to make my care that loud beyond a deck and four. Then I discovered E K and G. My life has never been the same while getting loaded at the rocks on lake michigan after being out all night stereo improvement finally ended up with 12 kicker 12 inch seperates in a wall sealed on 6 arc audio 2500cxls with 4 deep cycles and a leece neville alternator to replace my ac compressor then i put an ac compressor in place of the stoke alty. O those where the days. sober now but still like my music.

I like music, which bass is part of. A small part.
Given the distrobution of power through the duty cycle of music.. bass is often the main component.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I like loud and banging to bass...

One of my uncle's friends got me hooked on car audio in the late 80s, around 1987/1988. He had a Nakamichi tape deck, Nakamiche EC-200 crossover, a nakamichi amp pushing some nakamichi mids and highs up front. In the back he had a Rockford Fosgate Power 1000 pushing two die cast JBL T595s and two 15" JBL subwoofers. All this was in a Ford Bronco with the removable top in the back. Man, I loved riding in that thing!

i myself, have and older brother and when i was a teen he got a system, and i was awed, so im like ****, i need to get it

LOL it's those subs again............

M car got me into bass. I grew up in the Ghetto and dudes with cars and sounds got the skanks. I got older and the skank pool was dried up, but I still wanted to hear good music and hear it loud.
